6 healthy fats you're probably aren't eating

Fats have gotten a bad rap. The food manufacturing companies want us to believe that fat is bad. They play on this by offering low-fat and fat free options. It's not that fat is bad. It all boils down to the type of fat.

Healthy fats are actually more important than carbohydrates. Your body needs the fat more than carbohydrates but most people tend to shy away from the fats and eat more of the carbohydrates. In North America we consume so much bread, pasta, crackers, rice and cereal. We should be doing the opposite. Focusing on eating healthy fat more than carbs. I want more people to embrace healthy fats and even find new ways to be creative because they will help you to get results and burn fat.

My favorite healthy fat is almond butter and coconut milk. I love having coconut milk as an option when milk is required because part of my eating regiment is dairy-free. Coconut milk ready comes in healthy when I need milk for a recipe.

You need healthy fats if you want to lose fat.

Here are a few benefits of eating healthy fats.

  • Promote a Healthy Body Composition
  • Strengthen Bones
  • Promote Good Sleep
  • Improve Skin

Now that you know a few benefits of eating healthy fats, maybe you are a little more open to trying out more fats.

Here are the 6 healthy fats you probably aren't eating.

  1. Tahini is a sesame paste and it's great to create your home made salad dressing.
  2. Extra Virgin Avocado Oil is good as a salad dressing. You can also use it to cook at high temperature
  3. Coconut milk is an excellent milk substitute. A neat way to use it is to add it to your smoothie.
  4. Ghee is similar to butter. It is good for cooking at high temperature. It doesn't burn like butter.
  5. Mac Nut Butter is great to create nice healthy desserts.
  6. Coconut Butter is great for cooking to add a different favor to your foods.

Now that you know the 6 fats you aren't using, try and add some of these to your meal time.
